Terms of Service

Last updated: July 29, 2026

These terms govern your use of dreamsandmyths.com and the Dreams & Myths newsletter, ebooks, and social accounts (together, the "Site"). Dreams & Myths is operated by Forrest Webber. By using the Site, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

What Dreams & Myths Is

Dreams & Myths is a publication about dream symbolism, dream practice, and world mythology. We write essays, symbol guides, and mythology explainers, we publish a free ebook and a newsletter, and we offer optional tools that help you record and reflect on your own dreams. We are a library and a writing desk — not a clinic, not an oracle, and not a service that tells you what will happen.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Reading, bookmarking, printing an article for your own reference, quoting a passage with credit, and linking to us are all welcome.

Your Dream Entries

If you use a feature that lets you save dream entries or notes, that writing remains yours. We store it so we can show it back to you, and we do not publish it, sell it, or share it with anyone else. You can ask us to delete it at any time using the contact route below. Please do not enter anything you would be uncomfortable having stored on a web service.

Intellectual Property

The myths themselves are humanity's inheritance — ancient, public, and belonging to no one. What we own is our own writing about them: every essay, symbol entry, interpretation, illustration, and page layout on this Site is original work created for Dreams & Myths, and it is our copyright. The Dreams & Myths name and logo are our trademarks.

You may quote a short passage with clear credit and a link back to the source page. You may not republish a full article, mirror the Site, use our text to train or populate another content product, or redistribute our ebooks.

Where we quote translations, scholarship, or artwork by others, we do so with attribution and for the purpose of commentary and education. Those works belong to their respective owners. If you believe something on the Site infringes your rights, contact us and we will review it promptly.

Affiliate Links

Dreams & Myths is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program and uses the affiliate tag dreamsandmyths-20. Some links on this Site — including links to our own book, Dream Soil — are affiliate links, meaning we may earn a small commission if you buy after clicking. This never changes your price, and it does not change what we recommend. We write first and link second.

Third-Party Links

We link out to other sites: booksellers, museums, translations, archives, and our own social accounts. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, accuracy, availability, or privacy practices. Once you leave dreamsandmyths.com, their terms apply, not ours.

Newsletter & Email

Subscribing to The Dream Journal, or downloading a free resource such as the Lucid Within ebook, signs you up to receive new articles, symbol guides, and occasional recommendations from us. We do not sell or rent your email address. Every email carries a working unsubscribe link, and you can also ask us to remove you using the contact route below. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle your data.

Important: Dream Interpretation Is Reflective, Not Medical or Predictive

Everything on this Site — every symbol meaning, mythological reading, and interpretation, including anything produced by an automated or AI-assisted feature — is offered for reflection, cultural education, and entertainment. Dream symbolism is cultural and personal: it varies across traditions, and the meaning that matters is the one you find in your own life.

Nothing on this Site is medical advice, psychological or psychiatric advice, diagnosis, therapy, or treatment. Nothing here predicts the future or should be used to make health, legal, financial, or major life decisions. We are writers, not clinicians. If your dreams involve persistent nightmares, trauma, insomnia, or distress that affects your waking life, please talk to a qualified doctor or mental health professional. If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, contact your local emergency services or a crisis line immediately — in the United States, call or text 988.

Disclaimers

The Site is provided "as is." Mythology is contested, translations differ, and symbol traditions disagree with one another. We research carefully and cite where we can, but we make no warranty that any article, interpretation, or recommendation is complete, current, or correct for your situation.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Dreams & Myths and Forrest Webber are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Site, from anything you read here, from any decision you make based on it, or from any product purchased through a link on the Site. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Site is limited to the amount you actually paid us, if anything, in the twelve months preceding the claim. Some jurisdictions do not permit these limitations, in which case they apply to the maximum extent legally allowed.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms as the Site changes. Updates are posted on this page with a new revision date and take effect when posted. Continuing to use the Site after a change means you accept the revised terms.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
